Dumb Like A Frog

I went fishing the other day with some good friends. It's something I don't do often, so it's special when it happens. We began the day with a friendly contest to see who could catch the most fish (I'm a guy, and I'm competitive).

After a few hours on the pond it was all tied up 6-6-6. We had all but given up and were about to leave when I noticed two bull frogs on the bank. So on a whim I threw a spinner bait just over their heads and began to retrieve it. One of the frogs turned and pursued the spinner until he picked it up in his mouth: and I set the hook (see the picture for the outcome). 7-6-6.

Do you go for shiny things even when you know it could hurt you? Sometimes the most attractive is the most dangerous. Maybe it's a relationship or a new job for more money. Maybe it's neither of those things. Maybe there is before you a situation that may demand your attention, but unless you set up boundaries, you may end up caught; with nowhere to go.

Be aware of the traps set to ensnare you. Shiny things are not always the best. Fortunately for the frog I let him go, but his bottom lip will forever bear the sign of his bad decision.
