Revived By Revival

Revival.  We as Christians hear the word and are automatically taken to a week-long church meeting.  Or maybe you experienced a tent revival meeting like I did as a kid.  It was hot and the preaching was loud.  The memories are often good, especially if someone trusts Jesus or commits to turning their life around.  But what is revival really?

It is often used by preachers during revivals but 2 Chronicles 7:14 gives us an accurate account of what we must do in order for change to occur.  God says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways,  then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land."

It's pretty self-explanatory really.  Humble yourself. Pray. Seek God's face. Turn (repent) from your wicked ways.

God's word is sometimes call a "mystery" but I'm pretty sure this isn't one.  It is up to us as individuals to allow God to work in our lives.  Don't wait for a "meeting" to meet with God!
