Botox and Ping Pong

I love new things.  New cars have a new car smell.  New shoes have a new shoe smell.  There is something great about opening a box of unused things that make us feel good.

Our youth group was recently given money to purchase a new ping pong table (picture below).  The old one was actually two ping pong tables put together.  You see the first one was falling apart so I put a newer top on it with liquid nail (Man, that was heavy!).  Anyway, a new table was needed.

The sad truth is that everything deteriorates.  Everything breaks down.  But don't we try our best to make things last forever?  If you haven't heard about it yet, here is the story on the N.J. Tanning Mom.  She is famous for taking her five year old daughter to a tanning bed and for how much time she spends tanning.

Her situation sounds extreme. Really extreme!  But don't we all try to make things look better as they get older?  Maybe not in such an extreme way as the Tanning Mom (her real name is Patricia Krentcil), but to some extent we do.  Houses get painted and cars get remodeled.  Faces get lifted and Botox gets injected.  But if things break down too much, we throw them away and replace them.  Maybe not people, but pretty much everything else.

That is how life works.  Everything breaks down.  Everything!  Remember that one day we will all die and will be face to face with our Creator. Make your life count in other people's lives so that when you are gone,  God will continue to be glorified because of you invested in others!

For the record, I am 2-0 on the new table.  All challengers welcome!
