I've got a running app on my phone. I like it. I use it when I run. I also used it the other day when I mowed. I was curious as to how far I traveled while pushing that self-propelled mowing beast around my yard. The stats are in the picture below. You can tell me what you think the path looks like, but I think it looks like a rabbit wearing glasses.
I like the fact that there are GPS satellites in space right now that at any moment can triangulate my exact location. If I was a terrorist the military could drop a bomb on my head. If I was driving, it could take me anywhere on the planet. Or in this case, I can see how far I walk when I mow. Ah, technology.
Spiritual markers are placed in our lives as well. They tell us where we have been and give us an indication as to where we are going.
So where are you headed? We walk with God at different speeds. Some of us are traveling at a fast pace, others more slowly. The key is to always move forward.
So how do we do that? Here are some suggestions:
Keep going. When you get bogged down with life, keep walking with God by spending time with Him and confessing sin to Him.
When you fall, get back up. Then repeat. Notice I didn't say if. You are going to fall. But don't let your failures keep you down. You are worth more to God than you know. Let Him pick you up!
Find accountability partners and consistently talk to them. They will be truthful and honest with you and will listen to you when you hurt and when you rejoice. And if they aren't those things, find new ones. Don't ignore this step. It is very, very, very important!
That's it. Sometimes simple is best. Please comment below and lets work through this together. I look forward to your suggestions!
